Verbon Kemp retires and is replaced by Verent J. Mills (1913-1996) as CCF's
third Executive Director (1970-1981).
1971
CCF is assisting 133,555 children of whom 88,455 are in orphanages or boarding
schools.
1972
Mills commissions full-fledged evaluation of CCF's philosophy and practices
by Dr. Charles G. Chakerian, social scientist from the University of Chicago.
CCF's focus shifts from orphanages and boarding schools to community-based
projects. Children's Garden is closed and Hong Kong YMCA takes over the
facilities. |
